10 days 10 decades of NBC Day 9 : Favorite program

Even though my favorite program from NBC (the original Kimba the white lion series) isn't really produced by them but this anime/japanimation is the one that actually made me interested on NBC and later even more tv channel logos (most of my Hyperfixations are interconnected to each other in the way how i discover them). So for today i decided to redraw one old drawing of Kimba meeting Polly for the first time, in the original version Polly actually ran away seeing the white lion cub, but in the new version it was changed to just him being surprised.

If it weren't for Kimba then i wouldn't have started my logo Hyperfixation and made all of these headcanons about a bunch of corporate symbols come to life (that has some inspiration with those windows vista/7 dies series and my already established story of living objects) which i also found by accident while seeing some Lion king stuff back in 2019 when the live action remake is released.

Anyways about the drawing, i kinda did a cel animation-like style for this drawing (and a bit of that 1960s cartoon style) since i think it fits the both of them a lot. So it's a bit simpler than most of my drawings for this 10 day event.

10 days 10 decades of NBC Day 8 : free day/whatever stuff related to NBC

for the free day, i decided to make a 3d model of Polly instead and upload Nancy's 3d model too in here. I often did these little 3d models of logos everytime i use my laptop (and has free time) and these 2 were just a few of many 3d models i did of the logos (mostly ITV logos). These two were actually a remaster of this :

those two were made in 2021 and they both look very silly.

10 days 10 decades of NBC Day 10 : the Centennial anniversary

Welp, today's the 100th birthday of NBC And that means the last drawing for this 10 day event full of NBC drawings. Can't believe the network (and the microphone brothers) were already a century old.

I have a lot ideas actually for the finale of this 10 day event yet i can't decide which one so i decided to draw Polly and his friends in shimmering gold outfits for the special celebration of the Centennial (they're a bit too early though, because i found out that the special is in 10 December not today).

I did have a few more NBC related ideas that i might still draw after the event, even though tomorrow i might do something HTV related because tomorrow's Harlech's birthday (2 birthdays in a row).

10 days 10 decades of NBC Day 6 : Proud as a peacock

Another lineless drawing (and one that's a lot more experimental), i actually have too many ideas for today since the idents that feature the 1979-1986 logo were my favorite NBC Idents, i eventually settled onto the 1979 Proud as a peacock era (AKA the return of the peacock). I kinda did the same rendering as how did the Proud peacock & N looked like in the 1979-1980 idents and it made them look a bit like glass i had to say (which is pretty cool), meanwhile for the background i did the same as the one used in some NBC programme promos from that same period of time.

Anyways, how about i probably tell some headcanons about Polly and Nancy's relationship. They at first started just as acquaintances when Nancy had just arrived in 1976 and then started to get a bit closer and closer until 1979 when they became friends, right when NBC told them to collaborate together when Polly returned on screen. Ever since then they became inseparable friends, even after Nancy retired in 1986, they still often hang out with each other to the present day (often along with Snakey Jr.).

10 days 10 decades of NBC Day 5 : Trapezoid N

Welp, first animatic during the 10 day event. It was mostly because i ran out of drawing ideas for Nancy (the nickname i gave to the Trapezoid N) so i just decided to animate her spinning like in the 1977 ident. This logo is pretty infamous for causing NBC to be sued by Nebraska ETV for their very Very VERY similar logos (the only difference is in the colour) which then led to NETV changing their logo while NBC has to pay quite a hefty fee to NETV.

10 days 10 decades of NBC Day 4 : NBC Snake

Kind of a test of drawing with only 3 colors inspired by NBC's 1962 ident (since there's not a lot of snake idents that can be used as drawing inspirations except for this), and the first time i drew Snakey Sr. In colors other than green. Probably the hardest part is the RCA TK 41 camera both in the background and the one Snakey Sr. Is holding.

10 days 10 decades of NBC Day 3 : In Living Color

Didn't really have a lot of ideas for this one actually so i decided to draw the moment Polly was born back in 1956 (damn, he's already 70 years old) in NBC's film canister archive all alone. Kinda made the space near Polly in colour while the others were still in greyscale to pop his colours a bit and also show the breakthrough Polly represented, Color television.

The reason why he's all alone without his parents when he hatched, actually it's because his parents were already dead at that time, after suddenly disappearing sometime before Polly hatched. Before that, they both hid the soon to be hatched Polly in the archives so that - - - - - - - won't find their son, and after that they were never to be seen anymore.

Sometime after Polly hatched though, he was later found by some of the NBC logos and they later adopted the little peachick who later became NBC's new logo that year.

10 days 10 decades of NBC Day 2 : Early TV/B&W TV

This turned out a lot more colorful than i imagined (especially for a drawing involving logos from the black and white era). I decided to draw these 3 NBC logos that were used during the early years of Television in the US (even though they're also used in NBC's radio service, especially the ribbon microphone and xylophone).

The first one is NBC's rectangle with bolts logo (which i nicknamed him as Dazzle) which was used from 1931-1942 popping outside of an early RCA TV Set, i didn't really have a lot of headcanons related to him actually other than him born from electricity instead of just from the airwaves like most TV Logos.

The second one is NBC's ribbon microphone (or more specifically the RCA Velocity microphone) logo which i nicknamed her as Belle, she had just gotten a bit of a redesign to match the real velocity microphones closer.

And the third logo to appear before the peacock hatched is the NBC Xylophone logo from 1953-1956 (probably the one with the shortest usage among the NBC Logos) which i nicknamed her as Xyla, the reason why did i drew her on top of a rose bush is because the first usage of this logo is during the tournament of roses so i think that might've been perfect for her.

I found out that NBC Orange network exists and decided to make a new character based off the network. Behold, Nicholas, Owen and John's secret third brother who's taller than them.
