Where to find us at #AAM2016
the Museums & Civic Discourse Project
invites you to participate in an open meeting & discussion
Sunday, May 29, 2016 10:30 a.m. – noon
Walter E. Washington Convention Center
What is this? An open, engaged research project begun at the 2016 National Council on Public History conference that is still in its formative stages. One product of our work will be a digital-first publication. As collaborators and scholars working in and with museums, our goal is to bring historical and interdisciplinary perspectives to bear on museums’ work in the areas of civic discourse. How do we define “civic discourse”? Why is this project necessary? And, why do we hope you’ll join us and others in thinking, talking and writing about these issues?
