there’s nothing she enjoys more than watching tasha perform, knowing that SHE helped get tenebrae back on the stage again. usually she stands backstage, watches from the sidelines, but tonight she had decided to get involved with the crowd, sunglasses hiding most of her face in case one of her fiancée’s superfans recognised her.

however, she doesn’t stick around for long with the fans after the performance, swiftly making her way backstage to find tasha and wrap arms around her tightly. “you were SO good tonight, babe. no wonder y’ got so many crazy fangirls when y’ look like THAT on stage.

it’s all faded to the background, the tv blaring from the wall, her dishwasher humming in the distance, none of it MATTERS. erika’s curled into her body and francis tightens the arm around her only slightly, as if she was afraid that the detective would SLIP away. she had never wasted her time with relationships, never knew exactly what it was that made people beg for the attention of another human. but... she’s starting to understand. perhaps it’s a bad idea, perhaps she’ll get completely betrayed, but it’s worth it... just for this moment. “ask me anything. nothing’s off limits from now on. i TRUST you... completely.”
