god eddie nde though where he takes comfort just in bucks presence bc he trusts him and if this IS his last moments then he’s so glad he gets to be with Buck…gets to see bucks beautiful face…..and wait did he say that out loud bc now Buck is blushing and half laughs/half sobs and says o-ok Eddie ok let’s just get topside huh? then u can keep telling me how beautiful I am…

let's think about buck looking back at eddie and the way his face fell when he realizes that eddie has lost consciousness in the few seconds buck wasn't looking at him. buck wanting to shake eddie awake but he can't because he doesn't even know what injuries eddie has. hen having to push buck away so they can start working on eddie, while buck keeps saying "he was talking to me, he was looking at me. hen, make him look at me please" :)

hen: “ok buck, hey! hey okay. go with chimney. get back to ground level. ive got him buck. do you trust me?” and- well. ofc. of course. yes Buck trusts hen he trusts her with his life but this- this is- “I know. buck.” she smiles , hand on bucks arm “I know” and something, small but enough, settles in bucks chest in bucks mind, just enough to clear his thoughts and know hen is right, the best thing he can do for eddie is go with chimney, get to safety, let hen take care of eddie…

“eddie” Buck says as chimney is hooking them both to the harness “eddie im-“ tears threaten to fall “im still looking at you okay? I promise. hens got you. I’ll see you up there”
