Nearly Dead
“People always told me my father was crazy. They blamed the war and something called “Post Traumatic Stress Disorder”, a condition that could make you see things, make you jump at noises that no one else could hear. So when he started saying that there was a masked figure haunting him, no one believed him. I didn't. I should have listened. Now that he’s gone, it’s haunting me instead.”
Set in the modern day world, NEARLY DEAD follows seventeen year old Carmen Mateo whose life has begun a downward spiral since her father vanished ten years ago. The only thing he left behind? An ominous, faceless spectre who appears at random and never speaks. When her twin sister drowns in a strange accident, she suspects it's to blame.
Carmen must journey to the undead world of Thade- where the living are forbidden and killed on sight- and masquerade as one of the dead to find the truth.
That is, unless the killer finds her first.
Status of this novel?: The first draft is done! I'm currently revising it with a few chapters being critiqued by many talented authors at Writers of the Weird.
