4 Color Screen Printed Mutant/Robot/Ancon Mummy/’Bear in Human Skin Disguise’ 2D Action Figure Parts. 24″ x 12″ June 2016.
I made these as part of my Providence Public Library Special Collections Fellowship. They were printed on heavy board and parts were laser cut out by Hilary Treadwell. The images are based on a selection of books from the Special Collections, especially focusing on the 3 Volume ‘Necropolis of Ancon,’ a taxonomy of Andean mummified human remains and cultural artifacts removed by German ethnologist adventurers in the 1880s for the Royal German Museum.
