“psst..” avi didn’t want to disturb anyone else who was enjoying hocus pocus as much as she was, but she just had to say something. personally, she was bundled in two blankets. a true burrito. not that it was necessarily that cold inside the big house. but it was just cozy. however, she had noticed the person next to her didn’t have a blanket. “do you want to share?”

event #002 - happy halloween

—— CAMP ANNOUNCEMENT

the annual halloween festivities will be held on the 31st of october. there’ll be activities for both younger campers and older campers.   - during the morning decorations will be put up around camp, lead by the apollo and athena cabin but any campers are welcome to volunteer to help out. cabin counsellors/campers are responsible for decorating their own cabin with their siblings.   - from noon till two pm, young campers will be able to carve pumpkins at the arts and crafts building, lead by older children of demeter and persephone.   - during dinner a best costume competition will be held. voting is possible all throughout the day. votes will be collected by cabin counsellors, who will turn them in to chiron at the end of the day.   - like every year, there will be a maze inside the forest, created by children of hecate, athena, hephaestus, deimos, phobos and hermes. it’ll be filled with illusions, traps, and monsters. therefore this is only for campers who are 16 or older.   - younger campers can go trick or treating around camp, or they can attend the halloween movie night at the big house, featuring movies such as hocus pocus, the addams family and nightmare before christmas.   - after midnight there will be a movie night for campers over 16, featuring movies such as a quiet place, the conjuring, and the babadook.

Callan Archer as Roy Harper/ Red Arrow. 

Callan would have gone as the Green Arrow if it wasn’t the fact that he preferred Red over green. So therefore he decided that his next option was Roy Harper. He would have gone as Thea Queen if Roy didn’t exist.

Lilith Zhou as Mulan

Lilith always looked up to Mulan while growing up. She portrayed a strong Chinese woman, that she could look up to.  

Most Halloween’s Lilith doesn’t get involved in dressing up, but this year she decided to get involved. Why not as Mulan? Her costume stems mainly from the original movie but she also takes some creative license from Once Upon a Time’s Mulan played by Jamie Chung, because she too had a crush on Princess Aurora.

going into the forest still dressed as eleven was probably not the smartest thing. but it must have looked pretty funny. ruby was just too dedicated to her costume to get changed for the maze. she did put on shoes, of course. but that - and the beige tights she was now wearing - was also just because of the cold. sadly, ruby did not have eleven’s powers. instead, she now turned another corner brandishing her familiar double spiked spear. she probably should’ve been more careful though, as she turned the corner without really looking for danger on the other side of it. there wasn’t any danger, just another camper, but for a moment she was startled and a string of curses left her mouth. catching her breath, she planted her free hand on her hip. “dipshit.” she addressed the other, but she was actually kind of smiling. ruby thrived on chaotic holidays like this. “you scared the living shit out of me. thought you were a monster or some trap or something.”

♠ —— RUBY DIXON :: ELEVEN / STRANGER THINGS

ruby has a shaved head of course, so she decided to make use of it. last year she went as the legendary skater ghost, putting minimal effort in her costume by using a bed sheet, one of her brother’s snapbacks, her skateboard and a pair of sunglasses. this year however, she has put some more effort into it, actually ordering the exact yellow t-shirt that eleven wears in stranger things (it was cheaper than having to order a whole outfit).

some key details ruby added for extra eleven-vibes are a bloody nose, just a line created with fake blood. And the attempted to walk around with bare feet the whole day, but it was too cold and she had to put on her platform dr martens. but they weirdly fit the costume. she also created some extra dark circles around her eyes with makeup.

♡ —— MARI CHOI :: SANDY OLSSON / GREASE

mari loves classics, she used to watch them with her nanny as a kid. they remind her of happy times. grease is one of her favourites. until she came to camp she never really celebrated halloween. as the daughter of a rich diplomat it was deemed ‘too dangerous’ to go out and go trick or treating. her dad also never saw the point in dressing up, so she never was allowed to buy costumes, or even make some.

since she has arrived at camp she has made it her mission to dress up as one of her favourite characters from her beloved classics. last year she went as vivian from pretty woman, and the year before as juliet from the 90s version of romeo and juliet.
