#Repost @eliasaikaly with @get_repost ・・・ This is a very real behind behind the scenes moment from the death zone on Mt. Everest. I’m not sure anyone will ever fully appreciate what we did that year with the technology we had at the time. We shot, cut and produced content regularly from as high as 26,000ft. We were sending SD cards down the mountain on our Sherpas backs, (thank you!) connecting with the media from 8000m, sharing the journey with kids and Skyping using laptops and satellite tech from as high as 22,000ft and more. This shot was taken candidly from camp 4 as I fed down a little dispatch to Garry who was editing a trailer together that went out to the world a few hours later on our summit night. We had a live broadcast during the summit push to hundreds of kids from my hometown in Ottawa, Canada. This is some rare behind the scenes Gopro footage. I’m a bit delirious, but in great spirits with an active sense of humor. We ended up summiting a few hours later, which was incredible. We also had a disco party at basecamp with the Sherpas post summit, disco ball, wigs and all. Teamwork to the max! Enjoy. #Everest #Camp4 #deathzone @garry_tutte #8000m #8848 #Findinglife #himalayas #technology #sherpa #mounteverest #deathzone #downsuit #radio #needoxygen #brainisbreaking #needsleep #donttrythisathome @instagram
