nehir wasn't usually one to sneak behind their friends' backs, but she knew the exact reaction she would get if she told her best friend that she was spending some one-on-one time with their brother. it wasn't an ideal situation to be hiding in the first place, but after the two matched on tinder, there was simply no going back. after her friend had fallen asleep in their room, nehir quietly snuck her way over to their brother's room after getting a text from him, slowly opening the door before peaking in. this was nehir's first valentine's day spent with brooks, and it was already going as smoothly as it possibly could. of course, there was the fear that a familiar face would spot the two together while the two still weren't public yet, but she didn't want to think about that. all she wanted to do was spend time with the person who knew how to give her butterflies without even trying. lacing her roller skates up, sat at one of the benches within the rink, she had a nervous but excited smile on her face. she nodded her head in agreement at his first observation, soft smile planted on her features. but once she noticed his reaction to her joke, a slight pout appeared on her lips, reaching out to place a hand on his shoulder. "no need to. i think the amount of good things you've done fully outweighs them," she tried to reassure him, hand running up and down his shoulder in a comforting gesture. she knew that the situation with sutton was still raw, especially because she still wasn't talking to nehir much, at least not as much as she was to brooks. she knew that things like this would take time, but she couldn't help but miss the friendship she once had with her. it was worth it, though, especially because she still got to be with brooks. she couldn't help but eventually break out into a chuckle at his pleads, shaking her head before finally giving in. "you know what---fine. how about you take me out on a fancy date soon and then we can call it even?" she asked playfully, gleeful smile written on her face. / @lcveloop

nehir hadn't remembered the last time she was this nervous. she had been on tv before, spoken to large audiences in the past---everything you could imagine that might spark some nervousness---yet nothing. so why was it that she was anxious out of her mind when it came to the event she was attending that evening with brooks? maybe it was because she was about to meet a lot of his friends and bandmates. the two were pretty much public now that his sister had found out about them, and although she was happy she finally got to show off their relationship, what mattered to her especially was making a good impression on the people he cared about and had soft spots for. arm wrapped tightly around brooks', she nervously looked around at her surroundings. "am i gripping your arm too tight? is it obvious that i look distressed? my cheeks aren't too red, are they?" she looked directly at him now so he could check. / @gccdwitch
