So outside of my own fan characters, not a lot of the universe changes in too many big ways. (I mean, unless your comparison is against the absolute universe) but for the general universe I’m kind of merging a lot of things together. Like number one I like the anachronistic aesthetic of the Gotham TV show and honestly, I’ve always felt like Gotham was very anachronistic since I saw the first Batman cartoon. I don’t particularly want the world to be modern. I kind of really like the idea of Bruce starting in the 50s and despite the fact that they have cell phones now and stuff that looks like our time. It’s probably not much farther than the 80s in their world. Like if we are thought to have jumped fast, they jumped way way faster. I just really enjoy that.

Sorry, almost got lost on a tangent.

The point is I’ve actually been working on this idea for… maybe 10 years now. Oh God, it’s been 10 years.

I’ve been trying to get up the courage to talk about it for a long time. I think I haven’t really been active on here till recently and… especially now that AI is such a big overarching shadow… it made it even harder to wanna share.

But I’ve been doing this for literally 10 years and there’s really nothing else that I am going to get out of it other than sharing it with other people who care. If I’m ever found. The Internet is big. So on the off chance that no one sees it and then I’m just talking into the void. Which honestly is a little more relaxing than I think it should be. I’m going to talk about.

Gotham Streets

That’s the name of the series I wanna make. It would be its own universe akin to the absolute universe. But yanno under my control.

Certain things would change, but other things wouldn’t like for instance I actually am disappointed of how little use homomagi get. They’re really cool concept.

But also, how all the big changes of the universe leave cracks. I feel like most people just treat them as a reboot and I think it would be more fun not to. Or not entirely. And what does it mean to be on the other side of things? I feel sometimes we play with that in superhero media but we don’t really look at it. NOT that I’m saying I’m gonna be doing an especially good job at it. Writing superheroes is cool. But I also think that I should.

I’m doing this and I’m writing this to gear myself up to post the first few chapters. The rest will be on my Patreon because…wheeeellllllllll money is kinda tight so a few more dolhairs can’t hurt.

But more importantly, I want to share. I’ve been working on character designs and different plot points and themeing. Building out the cast for larger than I even initially expected.

I just really like the world I’ve built and… it doesn’t belong to me anyway so… this version can.

All right that’s cool but what is this actually about?

Crap, I another tangent on my part.

Gotham Street is coming in the timeline between the justice league series and Batman beyond. But this isn’t the world of Batman beyond. Well… not entirely. Things happen differently. Some into small ways others and very large ways.

What’s important to know is that the characters here are growing up in the shadow of Batman. I’m not trying to answer the origin of the crimes. We can chat about how it was the chicken or the egg, but how are you going to feed it? How will the Chiken live?

This is how children grow up in the city of Gotham now that Batman is here. Batman is a constant. Is a part of the only world they’ve ever known. They have to grow up here. And how does one do that? And what is the rest of the world like?

So we see this story specifically through

The Girls Club

And their singular member that exists nowhere else but here.

That was admittedly made because a certain group of boys won’t let them participate in what people call now hero work or vigilante work. And they decided otherwise.

Who are the Epsilon girls closest friends outside of their teammates? is it socially more difficult for them since there is such a wide variation in their ages?

I think the age differences arent so bad, all within 5 years with a pierce at either end. It’s definitely easier for some of them to socialize with others.

Most then have school friends or general civilian friends.

I definitely believe Maya, Sin, and Tiffany struggle a little more. Maya has a habit of slipping a mask on a being whoever the person needs them to be. Sin has had a lot of people push her boundaries and she will cut them off. Tiffany….well as an autistic woman myself, people are hard sometimes.

Decided randomly to update any "friends and enemies" profiles on the Steph wiki that can easily be updated to quickly cover the end of Pre-Flashpoint continuity/last issues of her Batgirl series (def not updating them past that lmao talk about a mess), even though no one will care, bc idk. It's just a couple lines, I'm not going to be as detailed, why not.

And discovered I somehow never made one for Nell? How did I miss that? I made one for that one goth girl she was friends with in the Robin/Spoiler special but not Nell? I'm so sorry Nell.

So uh. Nell now has a profile on there, that no one will probably ever read, just because I'm a completionist. Also the Civilians section was somehow not on the character pages section, so that's fixed now.

I do not know how to describe the soul level disgust and rage that team felt.

I do know the Omega Boys were lectured/threatened/scolded on what would happen if they ever dared to do that to their girlfriends. And all four of them knew to keep their mouths shut.

Nell started out running a failing newspaper club. The school doesn't want a student run online blog, so they are content with appeasing the four members by letting them create a small scale magazine. The assigned faculty overseer was also expecting small cute fluff lieaces... And then Nell approaches her with possible evidence that a few wealthier families in gotham are trying to affect how their school curriculum is run.

And Nell is told to focus on something else; not to get herself into trouble plus her one piece of proof isn't definitive. And Nell is frustrated. Not because it was her big scoop but because truth was being obscured from the students, from the parents, from other teachers on what the admin was trying to do. So, she decides to take matters into her own hands.

All of part time money starts going to printing out spreads, her fellow club members start helping form a website as well as organizing the pages for physical copies. But that isn't enough. So Nell, with her limited funds but skills in martial arts and gymnastics decides to put on as nuch covering as she could and went out to gather the proof herself.

And in the process she learns it goes deeper than just her school, and starts digging more and more. The anonymous and free magazines start getting grabbed more often and people start dubbing her as Spoiler. Some even convinced this is her work, so Nell rolls with it and sort of steals the moniker.

Besides, she isn't a vigilante, so no trouble right?
