Please share with us your thoughts behind "rebirth", it's very cool and I'm very interested!
Sure sure!
The main idea behind the piece is the theme of endless repetition, comparing Rindo's Replay ability to the phoenix symbolism around Hazuki. Rindo is represented by a snake, aka ouroboros, the snake that eats itself, a symbol of eternal cycles. In Norse mythology though, if the snake releases its own tail from its jaws and concludes the cycle, the world will end. Hazuki is the phoenix, a mythical bird that erupts into flames and then rises from its own ashes over and over for all eternity. If the cycle continues, everything will end, vs. If all is destroyed, the cycle itself will birth something new, which is a conflict their ideologies already have.
Hazuki is slowly taking Rindo's mask off, intimately shoving his fingers in a place he is not wanted. The insistence on repetition of the weeks forces Rindo to remove his mask in the most uncomfortable way possible. Rindo is not aware of Hazukis presence but feels what he represents, and Rindo must avert his eyes from his phone and open his hand towards the future, as he is fully constricted by the coils of time and is slowly bursting at the seams, blood pouring down his face as the question of whether the end is always meant to happen because of the inherent evil of humanity or if anyone can change through enough repetition begins to destroy him
