U of O Student Food Pantry
So I was just searching local food/assistance organizations--not just because of the ripple effect from the shutdown, but also for my own use because, honestly, I need more help than my current programs/benefits provide, and it isn't even winter yet. Anyway, I found out the the University of Oregon has a Student Food Pantry! I was unaware because I am no longer a UO student myself, but I know lots of friends who are. Plus, I figure this might be helpful for any students who are also moms without their WIC vouchers or other programs right now, or students whose jobs are affected by furloughs and such! All Lane County students (UO, LCC, Christian college, etc.) are eligible. And it's a weekly thing, so you won't have to be limited by the visit-limit of the main FFLC food bank (you also won't have to wait and wait and get herded through like cattle, because it's smaller than the main Food Bank.
