They’d had this talk once before, but it was so long ago that he couldn’t really be mad at her for forgetting. Their relationship wasn’t conventional and he wasn’t that cliche kind of boyfriend-type of guy. He liked his space and his privacy, but he also wanted her and to have her all for himself, so he was at an impasse. “Y’know I can’t, darlin’. It’s against my rules and you and I both know it ain’t like that between us. Besides, I’m a grown man. I’ll be fine in one of them hotels. It’s just bad weather.” As he finished, he pushed the curtain back again to look outside at the oncoming weather, chewing on his bottom lip. It looked pretty bad, the dark sky and the flashing lightning mixed with loud thunder. But there was no real cause for concern just yet.
