Just saw Portrait of a Lady on Fire and am just....WHOA. I feel that I need a few more viewings on a big screen to soak it all in. No frame or piece of dialog are wasted. It's just visually stunning and damn, the story is *chef's kiss*. Can't wait to read all your analysis now!

It’s a movie that lingers, isn’t it? You want to hit replay right away to go back into the magic and not leave the little world that Celine Sciamma built for these women. (Also to see all the nuanced and subtle details, how Celine executed the slow burn, hear the soothing sounds of a brush on canvas, and mitigate the fact that you really can’t stare at two faces at once, but you need to!)
Take the time you need to absorb it! I only saw it a week ago but somehow it feels like an eternity since it’s been in my life.
Just discovered that Portrait of a Lady on Fire is playing in my city in October! Can't wait to see it!

Any thoughts on the fact that Anne never said "I love you" to Ann? Was it enough that she proposed 3 times etc? I really wished that we got that confession in her most vulnerable moments!

TL;DR: I don’t think we doubt for a second that Anne Lister loves Ann Walker even though she hasn’t said the words. For me it really boils down to the fact that it was a conscious choice on the part of the show and thus it becomes a question of what point the show is making about Anne Lister. Also maybe a commentary on the audience for noticing it and wanting her to say it.

Ohhhh right…. Evie. Totally forgot about her (and pretty much the rest of S4). At this point in my viewership, I’m pretty much on board to see Evelyne. Of course I’m happy to see them make more out of the story and characters we loved so much pre-S3, but that’s all just gravy.
DUDE. I’ve been sitting here trying to remember what Alison did or what her plot was in S4 because the last thing that happened to her in S3 was that she won her local election and did anything ever come of that??? I can’t recall a single thing Alison-related in S4.
How could you forget Evie the Asian???? Ahahaha, I’m just kidding, there wasn’t much memorable about her.
Hello fellow Root mourner! I can't help but wonder what it would look like for a character like Reese to die. How would that play out in the context of POI? Would it have been as meaningful, in terms of The Machine's liberation? I suppose we'll never know...BUT I'm hoping we see some good AU come out of this *HINT HINT*.
I think Reese and Root are the only two characters whose deaths would motivate Finch to free the Machine. And it easily could have been Reese who died last night, but then the writers wouldn’t have had the Wham! moment of the Machine taking Root’s voice. :/ (With that said though, I still think Reese won’t survive to the end of the series either.)
And LOL, we’ll see about an AU, buddy. Nothing kills my muse faster than writers killing my favorite character.

i know right. at the risk of getting too wordy and psychological, i feel like the problem i have with studyblrs is that they cater to this (primarily) american idea that hard work is better than working smart and taking shortcuts is bad and blahblah. so these people spend hours even making notes, study guides and doing stuff completely irrelevant to the material to create an illusion of hard work.
personally, i don’t get the point of spending two hours decorating your bullet journal and getting 256 color pens when 5 and a plain bullet journal, maybe with some clear color distinction can do the job just as fine and may be more effective. i feel like in many cases, especially in high school ppl, it’s a big circlejerk about who has the better studyblr aesthetic, rather than actually studying. it gets better in college and especially medblrs (seen from the point of me - someone who is studying medical genetics and might be going into med school after finishing that) offer some useful resources, but other than that, i feel like it’s more of a charade, esp in high school. but then again, i think it reflects the problems with american education system and the american way very well
(also sorry this got so long but i’m happy you actually replied bc i’d love to discuss studyblrs with someone who isn’t all gung ho about them :) )
