Why would anyone toss a duel monsters card down a well? Not only could they have just sold the card for a few cents if they didn’t want to have it, but they have no idea what kind of support would be released in the future to make those “worthless” cards viable and some of them would already have relatively generic value even at the time(having more attack the larger your graveyard is wouldn’t be TOO out of place in most decks) and stuffing them in a binder would have served the same purpose.
