Nezarus/Nesfarion/Fairion

First of all, how dare you. Secondly, bb, you know everything I think and feel about this character because we started talking about him four years ago and I haven’t shut up. But here we go.

How I feel about Nezarus/Nesfarion/Fairion

This is really hard to answer, in a way because it’s hard to get over all the interactions and nostalgia of Steamwheedle Cartel and my like, developing time as a roleplayer in WoW, my foundation, if you will. 

But, of course, I love the character at his core, I love Fairion and his high ambitions and his talents and the romance of him and the future Lady Shadowhold, as she was known in Jhaelune’s head. I love his tragedy and his fall, his decision to become part of the Scourge and Blizz help me, I love the shared story detail we decided, of him being the one who ended Jhaelune’s father, and therefore her world as she knew it.

The melancholy undead bard has ever been one of my favorite characters and I am sad that I am usually too caught up in Chasz stuff for us to really work out the WrA revamp of Nesfarion and Jhaelune and their story. 

I still think there is that good in him, I know it, actually and I want to see him develop again as he did in the old days, as someone that can in his own way, connect with another and be a part of breaking down Jhaelune’s barriers and helping her let go of some shit she’s been clinging to.

Who I ship Nesfarion (that is forever his name to me, btw) with:

Jhaelune, obviously. Never not shipping them. I do not care that she is a living bludnite and he is all DK-y and stuff. Noep. I do not care that there will likely be another version of her drunkenly shouting at him for ruining her life and making her question everything and confusing her. They are my #1 OTP forever and ever amen.

Non-romantic OTP for Nesfarion:

This one is even harder to answer, given our move and lacking the familiar group we used to play the characters among. I think though, he could use a less whimsical undead companion. I’m not sure why I think that’s a good idea. He’ll just mock them for being gloomy and then out-gloom them and alternate between those two until they flee forever. 

So my non-romantic idea for Nes, really, is just another soldier, another old soul that he can have the kind of friendship with that his and Jhaelune’s relationship sort of is/was/will be again, in that they don’t always have to talk they just understand each other. But maybe one that is more cheerful, generally speaking, than he is.

My unpopular opinion about Nesfarion:

This goes especially for our RP lives on SwC, I don’t find Nesfarion annoying. I always found his nicknames and circular rants amusing. I guess especially considering how long it took Jhaelune and me, to figure out that her nickname was offensive. In a really ugly IC argument with someone else, in fact. Ew. All the more reason I’m glad we have a chance to do this again, without that kind of negative interference.

What I’d like to see happen with Nesfarion:

Dude. We must do the thing with them. Maybe sit down in a couple of skype sessions, and go through things to a point where we could say maybe they marched on Pandaland together or something, and quest around in there for more modern adventures to add to their story. While it is meant to be this fucked up, beyond stupid and impossible romance, I always thought of them as being sort of, action types, so I want to do stuff like that too. 

Also, wtb more posts and scenes of him being musical and shit. I love his tortured artist-ness, cliche or  not. It is a big selling point.

(HARDY FERKIN HARRR, CHASZ. I’m also restricting this to WoW characters, since. You know. I’ll be here all day otherwise. Also WoW characters that I have currently active, or else I’d have to bring in Rhend, Sharzor, etc etc. It’d be a mess.)

Most Honest to Least

This is hard one to really place since none of my characters are really ‘explicitly’ honest, all of them lie to some degree and to some people. I guess it was more of a deciding who was most guilty.

Starting with Shaith. Shaith very rarely lies to anybody except his family and tends more towards just not mentioning the truth. If you ask him directly on most matters, he’ll answer you honestly or he’ll redirect if he doesn’t like the answer he’d have to give. This isn’t any real moral thing as much as it is a social observation, though. As far as Shaith cares, the more lies one has in the air, the harder who knows what. So it’s easier to simply not lie.

Hintiel is a bit more of a complex problem, seeing as he very rarely lies to people he cares about, but has absolutely no issue slinging kodoshit at people he doesn’t know or care about. I remember a few instances of him outright telling people he was a tailor or baker just so he didn’t have to explain his actual job. 

Nesfarion (or Nezarus, but hereabouts he’ll be known as Nesfarion.) is pretty simple. He lies to himself about himself more often than to anybody else. Otherwise he lies to everybody pretty openly as part of his ‘act’. He’s a bard, it’s his job in his mind to lie. 

Reenink is devoutly dishonest, always lying about himself, about his location, money, plans, practically everything. And he does this to just about everyone. He’s incredibly enigmatic and self-focused, working constantly to strive forward towards his own goals. Probably the only person he explicitly tells the truth to is his cat. 

Sherial is a straight-up little shit. Make no mistake, he has good intentions at heart, but he makes illusions about everything he does. From portraying himself as a complete fel-tainted monster to pretending to be sweet and understanding to gain people’s trust. He will change and adapt in an instant if he believes it’ll fit him better to do so. 

Most Sexual to Least

This is incredibly easy to categorize.

Sherial will sleep with just about anyone and anything. He’s pretty open about his sex life and will happily admit that, there is very little choosiness from the Sasslock and he enjoys (living) bodies as bedwarmers.

Hintiel is just about as sexual as any other person, maybe just a little bit more. It’s not really always on the forefront of his mind and he rarely pursues sex, but it’s definitely taken into consideration on a somewhat regular basis. He’s a mercenary before anything else, but a good partner wouldn’t find themselves ignored.

Shaith (funnily enough, my only character with a current child) is actually pretty nonchalant about sexual activity or physical contact at all. Most of the time he sees it as a waste of precious time towards his larger goals. He needs to always be going, going, going and slowing down for that kind of stuff typically doesn’t fit into his hectic schedule unless his partner is willing to fit into it. 

Nesfarion is more fond of the memories of intimacy than he is of actual sex itself. He misses the days where he could feel the warm touch of his wife, and the comforting caress of a woman that cares for him. Wow, that got depressing rather quickly. Goddamnit, deader.

Reenink is involved in a platonic marriage with his lion. Any attempts to break this bond will result in mauling. 

And that’s… all of them.
