Tog fans use Chaol's relationship with Nesryn as an excuse to potray him as the ultimate bad guy when from the very beginning it wasn't anything serious. In the books it was mentioned that Chaol knew Nesryn long before he met Celaena/Aelin. In fact they started hooking up after Lithaen (his previous girlfriend) cheated on him with Roland (Dorian's cousin). Their relationship kind of drained after he was sent to Endovier to retrieve Celaena/Aelin. He got busy keeping an eye on Celaena/Aelin as well as protecting Dorian. Then him and Celaena/Aelin started dating and he didn't see Nesryn again until he fled the castle. When he finally did see her after joining the rebels, she wasn't mad that Chaol ghosted her.
