I do find it interesting how Halo: Outcasts doesn’t end with a big battle but rather just sort of anticlimactically fizzles out.

The Banished get the bulk of the Divine Hand components, but the remnants of the joint UNSC-Swords of Sangheilios team (with help from Lt Petrov and her colleagues) are able to acquire the Precursor nanodust samples at least.

And everyone just agrees to leave Netherop as quickly as possible in the surviving Condors before the Created show up.

No, I actually quite liked that fwiw.

On the one hand, most recent Halo novels are pretty aggressively kept apart from what ends up happening in game stories. Even one that's directly adjacent (Shadows of Reach) is completely ignorable.

But on the other, if they end up connecting Netherop to the Endless, I guess that would be... something?
