Annoying Javier/Reader Headcanons

A/N: The promised list from this post. Gender-neutral reader. Everyone can be tormented! Also atp I am so far behind Kinktober and so burnt out and busy I will just have to finish it late </3

There's no question of if Javier's attachment to you is secure based on how irritating he is. And if he's feeling insecure, he will go about playfully proclaiming you love me! followed by a suspicious ...right?

Javier definitely steals your food. If you're really hungry, he won't. He'll think about doing it but he isn't heartless, so he won't. If it's a snack, it's going to be his for the sole reason that it will piss you off. He's leaned over and taken bites out of food while you were holding it in your bare hands. He's like a seagull, or perhaps a rude horse.

He also enjoys making sure you won't want it back. Javier will eat just about anything given the fact pickings are usually slim, and he doesn't like to waste food or animal remains. It began as genuine suggestions and meal prepping, but now he also makes suggestions simply to gross you out. Goat eyes? Yes, please!

Walks with him are either romantic or Hellish. If he can be, he's attached at your hip. This is fine when he's trying to woo you, because that tone strikes up a sort of truce. When it's a short walk to get away or just for travel, Javier is knocking your hip with his to throw you off balance or swinging your hands higher and higher until you say something.

If you bend over, he will be there. Instantly. Consider it his sixth sense. It's either a squeeze on the hips, a smack on the ass, or Javier outright rutting on you until you shove him away or start laughing. If you tell him to stop, he will. Until then, it's a safer bet to squat down instead.

Javier will just... move you around. He will grab your hand, leg, shoulder — whatever he can get to — and reposition it. Usually, it's so that you two are closer than before or are touching in some way. If you're already cuddling, then he's just dicking around. The only times he's looked genuinely sorry for it is when you've complained that you were almost asleep and then he yanked on your arm just because.

If you misspeak in front of him, you might have to shoot him. Javier will mock you for hours. Stuttering? He will laugh and ask if he makes you nervous, or tell you how it cute it is. Forgetting a word? He'll never say that sentence correctly again. Accidentally made an innuendo? He's going to turn into a monster. Like most things, if it genuinely upsets you, he won't do it again. If you're only vaguely annoyed? Well, that's the reaction he's after.

I ADORED your Arthur with clingy kid reader and I had such a cute idea: Arthur with a kid (same age/range) who really likes to draw? Like they look up to Arthur a lot and think his sketches are the coolest and always show him their drawings (and probably draw him and other gang members too🥹)

Arthur is a private man and that extends especially to you. Even in illogical ways, his mind will twist situations to turn him into a terrible influence. He'll be glad you've got a gentler side to you (the kind of sensitivity expected of an artist? that's proof he hasn't poisoned you yet) and yet showing you his art feels like enabling a tendency to "waste time" on foolish hobbies. All this to say, you'll have to beg to see his drawings in any way but on accident or while he's "wasting time" himself.

Maybe, then, he's enabling your hobby as some way to heal his inner child. Finer arts are transitioning, slowly but surely, from a rich man's venture to something more obtainable— given he robs rich men on the regular, there's been a few opportunities for him to tuck expensive supplies like paints and fine horsehair brushes away. Anything he sees that you might like to try is fair game, since he might never get the chance to grab it again. Might as well know you hate painting before he swallows his pride enough to actually purchase something. In a store. The legal way. Disgusting.

Now that Arthur's older, he realizes all of the times Hosea or Dutch went without just to give him something high quality, even if it wasn't necessary: new boots that were tough enough to keep him safe, a vest that actually fit him, a journal that didn't have binding so weak it'd fall apart in his satchel within a month. Arthur may be poor at telling you how proud he is of your skill and dedication, but he's skipped meals and gear repairs to give you a real sketchbook, pens that aren't half-dried out from some other person's use. He only hopes you'll realize one day what you meant to him.

Hosea was the one to encourage Arthur the most as a boy, and he's also the one who encourages you. Dutch thinks it's great, Susan thinks it's cute, and Hosea is that one relative who says kid you've got a great business opportunity here and single-handedly funds it for the next ten holiday seasons. The older he gets, the more he'd like you to scamper off and set up a life for yourself doing something normal, like art. Arthur inwardly hopes for the same.

The rest of the gang is varying degrees of endeared by it, especially when you draw them. You'd be hard-pressed to find any member who isn't a little soft on you, even if the most they give you is a looks good or I can't even draw a circle and seemingly no more interest. Give them a drawing and, admittedly, a few are not keeping it or taking care of it (Bill, Micah clearly, Strauss, etc.) but a lot of them will tuck it somewhere safe, even if they eventually forget about it.

If you ask Arthur to teach you something, he'll try his best. If he asked the same when he was young, Lyle either didn't do it or treated him as though he were a fool for not knowing naturally while he did. He'd like to avoid that with you. That said, he hasn't got a clue what he's doing or why he does it when it comes to art— things just sort of... work out in his head.

Can I request Arthur or rdr1 John with a clingy reader.. Like,, actually clingy. Leaning on them, hugging them, holding onto Arthur/John every chance they get. and reader is their kid or younger sibling 🧸 idk I just want a tough middle aged man to be soft for me in a platonic way

I'll answer for Arthur. I've already written a few things with reader being his kid before but I had one(1) idea of a thing to write about so we're doing it again. One trick pony right here.

Also sorry my inbox is attracting flies right now because I'm letting all the asks rot, I've been depressed and sick. Happy 2026 I just got over my SECOND norovirus case of 2025 T_T I feel brain damaged after the last month.

Arthur's tolerance really depends on how young you are and how much time he's had to get used to you being entirely up in his business. Years or since birth? He's not batting an eye. Swing off his arm while he casts his fishing line with the other, just don't tear the coat or you're the one who's gonna mend it. Is this a recently developed phase? He's going to be irritable a lot more often, or at least exasperated.

He can get overstimulated easy when it comes to other people. Any sensory input that breathes is a fast track to pissing him off, and there's no love in the world that can change that. He's fond enough of you that he bites it back and stalks off until he's ready to act human again, and that's as gentle as you'll get out of Arthur in that case.

Otherwise? He sort of likes it. Arthur's sense of capability when it comes to protecting his family is one that's taken many a severe beating. Knowing you feel relaxed enough around him that you'll hang off him like a tree or are so content to curl around his leg while he's whittling with a sharp knife gives him a certain sense of pride if he thinks about it. (Maybe he shouldn't be cutting in your direction but he'll burn that bridge if he gets there.)

Arthur does spend a lot of time away and he sometimes feels that your clinginess is a manifestation of insecurity. You might not realize that there could be a day he won't come back — because who really does until it comes? — but you certainly know how much you miss him when he's gone. Oftentimes that guilt will have him putting an important chore off to spend time with you before Grimshaw gets on his ass again.

He's the type of dad to roughhouse with his kids once they're old enough to probably not break half their bones. It's affection, it's just also moderately dangerous. Expect to be tossed around like a feed sack until you're too big for it or start crying, whichever comes first. Grown up short? You're getting slam dunked like a basketball well into your twenties, cheers.

I was thinking about Kieran Duffy and a gn!reader who likes hearing him talk about horses and learning about them but is too embarrassed/shy to straight up ask him about it, so they just try and bait him into doing so (or stare at him while he tends to them until he notices..😭) Can be head cannons or a oneshot sorta thing! (Platonic or romantic is up to you, either is fine!

I kept piddling about this request because it's cute asf and I wanted to do a oneshot for it... I hope you enjoy the headcanons tho. I was like 75% of the way to a fic outline but I couldn't flesh it out enough. Relationship is ambiguous.

Kieran is a little too aware of where people are around him, so he definitely notices your lingering. If he's tending to the horses, you're not far off, watching or finding a chore to do nearby; if he's by himself enjoying the breeze that comes up from the Dakota, you're also not far off, fidgeting around like you're fixing to do something.

For a few days, he thinks you're psyching yourself up to be the next to pick on him. Whatever it is you have to say, you look like you're bursting at the seams with it. When no insults come his way, he's more interested in it. Kieran is, however, the last person on earth to know how to make himself more approachable. The idea that anyone would find him unapproachable is far-fetched, in his mind, so your hesitance perplexes him.

It's on one occasion that he's tending to the horses, you come close to spitting it out. Hauling feed sacks isn't one of your favorite chores. On account of being tied to a tree without much to do except for studying the camp's routines, Kieran has figured that much out. The awkward attempt at a casual back-and-forth of "what're you up to?" that passes is what leads to both of you working up your respective nerves.

You approach him when he's minding his business, having made up a story about your horse acting strange the other day. Your goal is to work from that question into picking his brain some. Beyond that... well, that's an issue for future you. Unfortunately, Kieran responds by asking if that's why you've been stalking him around camp. He says it, yet he looks as embarrassed as you do afterwards. The nervous energy of being caught in that leads to you immediately confessing you lied simply to start a conversation, and then there's a solid minute of you both fiddling around trying to figure out how to continue without making any more of a fool of yourselves.

Kieran's happy to explain anything you want to know and then some after the agonizing process of finally making yourself spit out that you're curious for curiosity's sake. All of his knowledge has been learned hands-on, starting from the days when he first worked in a stable as a boy. His terminology and scientific facts on horses are about forty or fifty years out of date, seeing as the man who taught him most of them had primarily learned through experience himself, but he's adapted it where he needs over time. While what he says might not be up to snuff for someone in the business, it's been good enough to keep him alive for the last twenty years.

As such, it's all valuable knowledge to him. Sharing some of it makes Kieran feel significantly closer to you. Wherever that leads to, each talk — even if it's him spewing information and you telling him it's mighty interesting, cue parting for the rest of the day — makes him feel more comfortable in your presence, too. Kieran's life has also taught him that he needs to serve a purpose in order to have a place anywhere, so he feels fulfilled in giving you a sort of value to fall back on, should you find yourself without a home.

More Touch Starved Arthur Morgan/Reader Headcanons

A/N: Part one here. I wanted to write his reactions to specific actions. Gender neutral reader.

Most things make him feel like a livewire, if not because no one's ever been that tender with him then because it's been years. He definitely has his favorites, though.

Arthur thinks his hands are clunky. The way you once took his hand in yours and traced the lines and scars on it got to him, let alone the brushes of your lips on his split, bruised knuckles. How can you love hands so soaked in decades of others' blood, acting like his drawings and loving are all they've ever done?

Your liveliness is nearly overwhelming. He loves holding people in general: it makes him feel like he's finally being the protector a man ought to be. It's near euphoric to have your head on his chest while you sleep, tucked in that dip where his shoulder meets pec, clearly feeling safe... because of him.

On the other hand, Arthur will warm up fast to being held by you. He's never slept better feeling, for once, protected by someone else. He definitely has to blink off stinging eyes on a couple nights. The vulnerability he feels just makes him borrow deeper. He'd curl up inside your ribcage, if he could.

You seem to think about him in ways others don't. The guilt subsides in the shadow of something indescribable over a kiss to the back of his knee, where only the sun has touched; thumbs digging into sore hips or calves. If you massage the tension out of anywhere, Arthur won't know how to act whatsoever - but target his hips or his legs and he's caught between lust and love.

Anything mindless will get to him, too. Grabbing his hand or elbow while walking, curling your arms around his waist or shoulders when he's in a good position for it, gently scratching his back and shoulders when you sit somewhere. All of it "just because." It takes him a long time to realize that being sweet on him is something that comes naturally to you, and that realization is heavy.

would you be able to make one about how charles would handle it? i love him sm and he seems so calm it would maybe be helpful i also struggle to breath usually so if you could maybe add his reaction to that? it would be awesome

Thank you, and I'm glad! I also get the air hunger with my anxiety, so I feel you T-T One of the scariest parts.

I focus on Charles' depression a whole lot more in my fics but he's definitely got his own share of anxiety issues, too.

Most of his skills in managing anxiety are self-taught from his years on his own. He was too young on the reservation to internalize much, lost his mother too soon to learn from her, and forget his father after that. If we're talking post-canon Charles, he might have some more concrete remedies picked up from the Wapiti (on account of likely suffering from bouts of anxiety himself during his time with them, all things considered) which would generally be teas or similar fixes.

You're right that Charles is calm... perhaps too calm. His lack of reaction is based in experience, but at first might look like he doesn't see the urgency. Panic attacks, as well as a general sensation of I'm In Trouble and also Time Is Running Out, are something he falsely presumes everyone experiences to some degree. Whether you're afraid, aggressive, paralyzed, can't stop moving— Charles has either been through it himself or been around while someone else went through it, on rare occasions he tagged behind other groups for a while. Being isolated does a lot to a person. He isn't going to judge, even if helping you ends up looking like restraining your hands so you can't claw your skin off.

He does worry, but don't expect him to fawn or coddle. He will fetch you water, if he can, or even offer up the last of his own, regardless of how far the next river is. He will soak some spare cloth to cool off your forehead and neck. If you need him to distract you, he'll stumble through the most words you've likely ever heard him speak at once; alternatively, he will show you, on the spot, how to do some miscellaneous skill to try to force your brain out of panic mode, even if it's something you already know. Charles struggles to show his concern quite like other people do, especially considering most of his care is given in practical ways, but it's there.

He will breathe with you, though unless you're very close or you're visibly about to pass out from the struggle, he won't get all that near you physically to do it. If you are, go on and listen to his heartbeat until you've calmed down. In most cases, he'd rather just bare the discomfort of holding intense eye contact and, if it's bad, verbally work you through breathing deeply until your throat feels open again. He's especially had experience with this sort of thing, as he's gotten his fair share of injuries that were a little more than concerning to get miles from anywhere and with few supplies. a professional at locking the fuck in

Most of his solutions are based in avoidance rather than addressing the problem, because he thinks — misguidedly — that his own anxiety has been fixed through avoidance alone. If a situation triggered your panic attack, he will figure out to avoid putting you in it again. If a person triggered it, he won't deal with them for you, but he will be there when or if you need to do it again. Charles is not above beating the shit out of someone, so that helps abate some of the fears. If it was a conversation, it won't be spoken of anymore.

Kieran wafts between letting his guard down without question and shoving the wall back up. Emotionally, it's going to take him a long time to accept the risks that come with trusting you. The back-and-forth can grow confusing for both you and him.

Exposure therapy works. Kieran has accepted a lot of treatment, both decent and abusive, on the basis of that's just how this person acts. If you're the type to grab people when you laugh then his flinching won't go away, but eventually internal alarm bells will stop going off every time you reach for him. Being familiar with your patterns makes new touches a lot easier to accommodate, too.

If you give him the patience he doesn't give himself, expect him to be confused and defensive. No one else has taken the time to understand him on such an intimate level. Here you are asking why and how, threateningly soft. Even worse, you're not angry when he doesn't know the answer. If he cannot wear you down by being standoffish about it, this might become a turning point.

It takes effort to let you be gentle. If you corral him into cuddling properly, he'll be exhausted afterwards. He wants to be close to you — and, most importantly, he wants to please you — but Kieran's body is still on high alert. He doesn't feel his masculinity being challenged when you want to hold him, but the sense of safety it brings him is unfamiliar and terrifying.

None of that is to say Kieran doesn't enjoy your touch. He feels undeserving of how readily you give kindness, but he has never been a righteous man; he'll take what he's given until it's gone. If you pull your hand back because he tensed up, it hurts more than if you kept it on him. Every time you have the chance to cuddle, he will spend the next month thinking of how warm your embrace was, how solid you felt, how real. He longs so much it aches. Nothing else feels as real as you do.
