I wanted to say thank you to everyone for your words of encouragement and support for my new job and relocation.

I am happy to report that I’ve made it safely and finished my first two days of orientation.  I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.  The people are so nice, not just at work but in the town and surrounding area as well.

Everyone is so welcoming and offering to help with anything I need.  I feel so blessed and grateful that I have a new opportunity and path forward.

Again, thank you to all my friends here who have supported me as well!

New Assignment -- [Toy Sheriff]

Activity had been starting to buzz again. Like an angry hornet’s nest all stirred up. Copper was beginning to think that these vandalisms weren’t the work of a group, but that of one person. They were different, yes, in crime, but connected by motive. And that was what concerned Copper.

No matter his own feelings, anti-Magick rhetoric couldn’t and wouldn’t be tolerated in a place like Swynlake. Not so blatantly. He knew this would cause a stir eventually. Elsa was pissed and poor Pascal was frightened out of his wits. They needed to contain this. And fast.

Unfortunately, with his workload--the still opened vampire case, the Harper case, etc, etc. He was a little swamped and couldn’t investigate to the full extent. They’d already gone and gotten pictures of the incidents, but they hadn’t been able to properly interview the victims, see if they could come up with a common thread.

Thankfully, they’d just hired two new, capable officers, and sharing the workload, having more eyes on this developing case. It was going to be important. He’d sent an email asking for Woody to stop by his office this morning so he could officially assign him the case.

He was going over some paperwork when he heard a knock at his office door and looked up.

“Ah, Officer Pride, please, come in, take a seat, and close the door, would you?” Copper leaned back in his own chair, crossing his hands over his stomach.

Yes! 💕 I will. I have a plot so far and most of the second chapter written. It’s gonna take a while, especially because in my life I’m currently applying to schools, but it’s in the works! An update...

So things have been a bit of a rollercoaster for me lately.  I was supposed to have a job in Sandpoint, ID several weeks ago.  Well two days before I was scheduled to leave I got a call that the hospital backed out of the contract.

I was devestated to say the least.  Two days in the bed, crying and not knowing what I was going to do as I had just quit my local jobs and didn’t know what I would do for work.

But the contractor worked and found me another assignment.  This one is in Orangeburg, SC.  I was originally scheduled to be reporting this Monday but that got postponed yesterday due to the hurricane.  *headdesk*

The assignment is still there and pushed back to Sept 18th as a start date.  I think it will be better overall for many reasons.  It’s closer to home, closer to my sister (I can go visit her!), larger hospital which means more experience and exposure to new tests and procedures. 

So, I’m trying to remind myself that everything happens for a reason despite the emotional wringer I feel like I’ve been through.

I have been trying to keep my spirits up and working on some writing and quilting projects to stay busy.

I hope everyone is well and stays safe during Irma.  It keeps shifting further to the west and ironically is now forecast to miss South Carolina after all.  But it does appear that I will probably see a bit of rain from it here in east central Mississippi now. 

Sending thoughts and prayers to all who have had to flee or in the path.  Whatever your beliefs, I pray that someone watches out for each of you to protect you.
