I read a really funny comment about the remake.

"I didn't like this comic because, although they explain how the world works in a natural way, you don't know where the main character came from or who he is; they just tell you he's super strong and that's it."

Which I find very funny, because BH is all about discovering Rood’s history and origins, and how they relate to all the events that take place and the people involved in those events. Rood is, in a way, connected to everyone, and that’s how you find out who he is and where he comes from. Discovering that is part of the plot.
