Mischief Movie Night at the Edinburgh Fringe!
Mischief is back at the Ed Fringe today with 3 shows: Charlie Aims to Please, The Mind Mangler, and Mischief Movie Night!
For today's MMN show, it was a dance-off movie set on a desert island called Desert Island Disco. It featured Harry Kershaw as a pole for Henry Lewis to pole dance on (make of that as you will haha)

gameplay-wise i love labyrinth warriors, but i can’t help to dislike the story writing as of Part 1 at least.
A lot of Childe’s personality and character is made up by the fact that he does the opposite of what the Fatui do - and which is the very reason he’s disliked. When he figures that Xinyan’s from Liyue, he wants to come clean on the spot and explain that he’s a Harbinger, the very one who almost would’ve drowned her entire city and probably her as well. He understands the consequences and has no issues to be confronted by them, but then Paimon as well as Traveller cover for him. Why? It’s so out of character for all three parties involved. Why would Paimon care that Xinyan doesn’t know what Paimon’s talking about? Why cover for him? And why does Traveller take part in it as well?? You might counter and say Well so that Xinyan doesn’t throw a tantrum or gets in a fight with him or something, but we don’t know her enough to assume her reaction. They could’ve easily written it in the way that due to Childe’s strength they’re more or less forced to have him on the team for now and who knows if the two of them warm up to each other. I mean, the interactions were wholesome, but I don’t like how they’re based on lies and therefore can’t really much enjoy it. It also just felt more funny that Xinyan’s being lied to and seconds later she lies to Sara. It feels ridicolous
Another thing that bothered me way more though was when Childe rightfully voiced his assumptions and theories about Shiki Taishou and his master, that there is a possibility that Harunosuke turned evil and used Shiki Taishou for evil doings since Shikigami can be used for both good and evil. He was literally just brainstorming and trying to make out the situation, but Xinyan snaps at him, says that Shiki Taishou passed her test through her song and she doesn’t like that Childe’s being rude. Taking a neutral stance and not being biased here: What was rude about that? He’s was literally just trying to work it out and on top of it outside of the domain the first time we meet Shiki Taishou Xinyan’s the one who was very wary of him and told us they can turn evil - and now that someone else confirms that for us as well, he’s rude?
TLDR: Even though it’s easy so far, event itself is fun and it is great to see Childe back and probably very nice for people who like Xinyan to finally see her, but the story writing is really going downhill ever since 2.0

Obsidian needs to give me a new game to swoon over so that this blog can finally be about Obsidian and not only Pillars of Eternity.
