just bought myself a Wii U. a good one, not the white 8 gb one for $320 odd, but the fancy black 32 gb one that costs an extra $100. i payed for it almost entirely using gift cards and some christmas money, so it only cost me $60 out of my pocket.
i had been saving those gift cards for over a year now. not deliberately, i got some of them last christmas and for my birthday and i put them away for safe keeping, then i noticed them a few months back and i counted them and it was quite a bit, so i thought "i could buy a shit ton of games" but then i thought a better idea would be to save up for one of the new gen consoles so i could play some even better games.
so why the Wii U? because most of the games i'd want on the PS4 or X-box One would be available on the PC anyway. this thing's a bitch to set up though. i keep trying to update it (and it's a big update, could take a couple of hours) but it keeps disconnecting from "the server". i guess i don't need to update it though.
all i have on it right now is "nintendo land" but that's fun enough. i have a birthday coming up, so i'll probably get some gift cards then to.
