To the person who asked about sorority candidates: your assumption is pretty accurate. If you're not rich, typically pretty, smart, and most important of all, white, you may not get into a sorority. The sororities usually don't like admitting this criteria, but meeting any of them or seeing large gatherings, it's strikingly obvious. Also, Old Row sororities are harder to get into, and are often looking for people from prominent families who also get fantastic grades.
There's one perspective, Previous Anon.
I just asked my roommate about Old Row sororities and she told me the only difference is that those ones are sponsored by Budweiser and have one extra party a year. The list of "top sororities" grade-wise includes both Old Row and New Row groups. There's not really much of a distinction, in her opinion.
I hope that helps!
I love Friday nights. Especially last Friday night :)
Last night, the girls and myself strut our stuff to New Row, where we participated in DTD's Purple Passion, and Theta Chi's party and had ourselves some fun. It was just a good atmosphere and I just had fun being out with everyone.
I got my ass slapped by a possible Alabama Football Player (roll tide), and then proceeded to embarrass him in front of his friends by yelling at him for it.
I saved my best friend from dancing with a 2...she deserves a 10.
I learned how to swing dance from a drunken Theta, who somehow scored 4 new numbers in his phone last night...
I saw a 40yr old man singing rock music to a a bunch of drunk people, who needless to say were LOVING it. It was the reason we left. How can you dance to that???
We lost a member of our group and when we found her, she was carrying a gallon of "PurplePassion" juice and claiming that she "Won it."
And in the end, we got a ride back home with a slightly inebriated friend, and sang along to Earth Wind and Fire.
All in all, it was a good night. It's a 2 day party, so I'm looking for anyone who's up for round two :)
