6. How did you get into new wave? once upon a time, i was obsessed with an app called 8tracks. i loved it because there were a lot of good playlists on it, and it was great for sharing and discovering music. i stumbled upon The Smiths and The Cure this way. i was 15, and it took me a while before i really got into anything else that could be considered new wave. i was 17 when i heard Blondie for the first time, that was really a turning point for my music taste. because of them i got into a ton of other bands/artists, Duran being one of them. i just get deeper and deeper into this new wave thing, it seems!

12. What are some underrated bands? oh boy, i have so many. first off, The Motels. AMAZING. their debut album is probably my favorite album ever next to Rio. (i love early new wave, especially stuff from 1978/79. those were good years.) Squeeze is another, and not just their early stuff; i really love Babylon and On. The Fixx, Romeo Void, Martha and the Muffins, and Haircut 100 are also incredible yet underrated bands!

20. Whose wardrobe would you want to steal? Nick Rhodes, Debbie Harry, Joan Jett. just gimme a mix of those and i’ll be happy 🖤

2. Guilty pleasure song? i don’t really have one! but if i had to pick, it would be Last Christmas by Wham!, but only because it’s already overplayed. i’ve just been feeling the lyrics lately, more so than any other year.

11. If you could play any instrument, what would it be? i just got a bass, so definitely that. hopefully after the holiday rush i’ll have more time to play!

14. Synth or guitar? depends on my mood. lately it’s been guitar.

15. What’s the roughest live performance you’ve seen? Duran, AVTAK, Live Aid. only because i can’t think of anything else 😂

I usually write a combination of both..but I think I tend to write more in print.

sometimes it’s accurate but that’s only a coincident.

blondie, the cars, the go-gos

OBVIOUSLY.

Blondie: Not especially, but I do have a pretty absurdist sense of humour that creeps into sarcasm at times.The Cars: YES. I wrote that question because I feel really, really nostalgic for the late '70s and early '80s, and to a lesser extent the rest of the '70s and '80s. I feel such fondness for those eras.The Go-Go's: Pretty well, I think, although I can't actually think of any secrets I've kept. (Not because I've blabbed them all, but because I don't have especially secretive friendships.)
