no one ever talks about it but truly the scariest episode of doctor who is “gridlock”. the uncertainty. spending forever and ever waiting to get somewhere that doesnt exist. lower class folks left behind with no information at all about their own lives, where they’re going, or what they’ll do. all being held together by the face of boe willing to expend his last breath fighting for the existence of people who dont know who he is, what hes doing, or how hes sacrificing his immortality for their chance at survival for just another hour. just one more day. just one more week in hopes that things might get better. that the doctor might show up. fighting to their absolute limit and putting everything in the line because anything, everything would be better than the way they have to live.
