Day 2 of Owning a Skateboard
When I got home from work, I started off by watching some YouTube videos. Learned that I needed to figure out which foot was my front foot (the foot on the front of the skateboard), cus it apparently should be consistent. I did that by getting a scooter out and riding a bit, which worked (It’s my right foot in case you’re wondering).
Then I worked on getting the board moving, and transitioning foot positions while it moved, which for the first bit, brought the movement to a halt (not cus I fell, but because I kept putting pressure on the wheels), but then I started to be able to get some distance after a while.
After practicing for a bit on the flat bit of the driveway. I decided to give it a try on the street. Then after a bit I decided to give the slope of our dive way (which as previously mentioned is not big) a try. The first few times were terrifying, but it got mostly better. So I pretty much just kept riding down the slope until dinner time. It was amazing!
I also started working on a trick to pick up my board. It’s fun.
And I only took one major fall today. It felt like it looked cool, but it did hurt a bit, doesn’t anymore though, so that’s good.
