I'm not able to look at my phone until after the meeting. But first thing I do is scrolling down to read your message. "Yeah it was good, just made some final decisions. Just gonna rehearse from now on. xx" I type out quickly. Hitting send before I slide my phone back into my pocket, not bothered about the rest of the messages. -niall
While I’m out interviewing an important fashion designer for my next article, I feel a buzz. I take a quick glance to make sure it’s not anything I need to answer right away. Seeing your name come up on my phone, a little smile forms against my will. “Sorry, just wanted to make sure it wasn’t my boss,” I tell her as I put my phone back without responding to you.
“Oh, I know it wasn’t,” the designer says to me slyly, chuckling under her breath. “You wouldn’t smile like that at a message from your boss.”
I feel my face flush as I stammer out something incoherent, attempting to change the subject by asking her another question.
Eventually, about a hour an hour later, I’m able to actually read your message and respond. I send back: “A lot of rehearsals coming up then soon, yeah? I hope you get a little bit of down time now and again”
I chuckle softly, "Yeah guess so." I give you a small wave and a smile before I turn to walk away. I rush to my car to get to the meeting, hoping I'll still make it in time. Once I get there, in time luckily, I send you a quick message. "Sorry for rushing off like that, Bells. Hope you didn't mind. xx" -niall
I'm just arriving at work when I feel my phone buzz. As I'm walking in the door, just narrowly avoiding hitting someone, I read your message. I chuckle, amused that you're so worried about having to rush off. Letting out a little breath, I send back, "Never, Ni! I get that it's all part of your job. Let me know how the meeting goes, though, if you get the chance"
I pull you close and into a tight hug. "I'm sorry I have to leave in such a rush, Bells." I tighten my grip on you before I pull back. "Text me, yeah?" -niall
“That’s alright, Ni,” I reply with a smile. “Coffee was lovely! We have to fit each other in whenever we can with our busy schedules, right?” As I promise to text you soon, I wave you away with a little chuckle, not wanting you to be late because of me.
I nod, feeling a bit nervous suddenly. "Good, that's good, Bells." I answer you with a soft smile. We keep talking about tour and your work after that. Not mentioning the fact that I'll have to leave soon again. I'm having a really good time, just talking with you and don't really watch the time. All of the sudden it's an hour later and I really need to go or I'll be late for my meeting with the boys. "Shit, I need to go." I stand up from my chair, gathering my things. -niall
“This keeps happening to us, doesn’t it?” I joke as I let out a soft chuckle. As you give me an apologetic look, I add with a smile, “Don’t worry about it, Ni. I’m sure we can meet up soon for that tour, yeah?” I leave the money for my coffee on the table before I stand up to say goodbye.
"Yeah, it is." I answer with a timid nod. "Gonna be so busy these few weeks before." I tell you some more about tour, trying to look happy but, thing is, I am obviously very excited to go on tour, always am. Still enjoy it so much after all these years. But I'm just getting started with you again. I'm not ready to lose your friendship once again. So after I take a sip from my coffee I look up at you, giving you a serious look. "We really should keep contact, tho, Bells. When I'm on tour." -niall
"I'd like that, Ni," I say quietly, not catching your eye. "I enjoy being with you, and talking with you, too. I don't want that to end." I smile as I look up at you shyly.
"Yeah, I could definitely do that." I smile at you, getting excited already. I love this part of London and I'm always happy to show people around. Especially you though. We get our coffee before we continue our conversation. "So, the boys and I are going on tour soon. Just three more weeks, something like that. I'm really excited." I tell you, grinning widely. -niall
I smile at your enthusiastic response. I've been wanting to learn more about the city, and it seems like you know it well. Plus, it's easy to spend time with you, where hours pass by almost like minutes. "Wow, that's so soon!" I exclaim with a raise of my eyebrows after you tell me about the tour. I'm excited for you, of course, but am already dreading you being so far away.
I watch you searching the menu and catch your gaze when you look up, softly grinning back at you. "It is, thought you'd like it here." It isn't even that long ago when I last saw you but I kind of missed you, glad to see your face again. And glad to be able to spend time with you. -niall
“Maybe you’ll have a give me a tour of this part of town sometime,” I venture with a smile. It’d be nice to start learning more of the city now that I’ve started to at least understand the area where I live--and of course I wouldn’t mind the chance to hang out with you again. It seems I’ve begun to quite look forward to spending time with you.
