tbh I'm kinda neutral on this whole Ryumako/Iramako thing. I mean I can't say I consider both ships canon. But I think if I was going to go for a ship it'd have to be Ryumako because they have a deep mutual bond. I guess the reason I don't consider it canon is because it was a hallelujah moment and like those are really comedic moments. But I don't know I could be wrong.

A lot of Mako’s hallelujah moments, it’s true, people don’t take seriously. But Makos feelings are very sincere, and some of her moments are actually very important for ryuko. Like the “winning at friendship is winning at life”. She’s ALWAYS supporting Ryuko in those moments. Unfortunately people misunderstand her because they consider her character strictly comedic.
