hi dodger! how about light, twist, + tender with ruffilo?
three words + a character or ship!
According to Nicholas, morning people weren't real. They didn't exist. He'd snorted when you'd told him that you were a morning person and you were standing right in front of him. He said you didn't count. When you woke up, you weren't doing things. You laid in bed and waited for a reasonable hour to get up.
You did like laying in bed with Nicholas when you woke up, but it was mostly because he looked so peaceful when he slept, you didn't have the heart to wake him up. There was something about the way his facial muscles relaxed, hair draped over his face ever so slightly, the sunlight just starting to warm both of your skin as it shone through the window. Sometimes you just liked watching, your fingers ghosting along his skin, tracing every inch of him while he slept, undisturbed.
Today was different though. Today, the lightest touch to his jaw had Nicholas turning to face you, twisting so his face was a few inches from yours. A sleepy smile twitched his lips, eyes fluttering open.
"Hi."
"Hey. Go back to sleep. It's still early."
A soft grunt leaves him as he shifts his weight, burying his face in the crook of your neck. A soft laugh leaves you as his breathing slows, clearly falling back asleep. You watch him for a few more moments, making sure he's sleeping before pressing a tender kiss to his forehead, another to his nose, a final one to his lips.
You liked mornings, if only because you liked watching Nicholas this at peace. It was nice. It was worth waking up early for.
