“so you just left it there?” y/n giggled, leaning into the boy’s neck.
“of course i just left it there, i thought someone was trying to trick me,” nick chuckled.
y/n’s hands laced perfectly with his own. he played with her fingers almost like they were his own favorite toy. he traced each line on her palm, the intricate strokes of his fingernails along her skin brought a subtle glow to the peaks of her cheekbones.
“only you would leave a $100 bill on the side of the street because they thought they were being pranked,”
“yeah, yeah, i’m a fool, but even if i knew it wasn’t a prank, i’d leave it there because i don’t really need it, i’ve got everything i could ever want,” he looked down to meet her eyes but could only see the tufts of hair that poked out of the borrowed hoodie she was wearing.
despite not being able to see his eyes, y/n knew nick was looking at her. his eyes were like a black hole, always posing the threat of sucking you in and keeping you captive for centuries to come.
“you really have everything?”
“well i’ve got the boys, my mom is healthy, i have a fucking incredible job, i’m close with my brothers,” nick rattled off, listing all the things he was blessed with. y/n finally looked up at the boy, his gaze now focused on the ceiling as he spoke. then he looked down at her and smiled, “and how could i forget,”
“i’ve got you.”
nick placed his index finger under her chin and tilted her head back. leaning down, he captured her lips in his, the kiss was soft. the feather-light embrace was sweet and intoxicating, y/n’s brain fogged up with the swirling thoughts of nick and her unending love for him. pulling away, he peppered kisses over the bridge of her nose and on the corners of her eyes. she laughed at the sensation, his rose petal soft lips tickling her skin.
“you sure i’m better than $100?” she joked.
“i’d walk past that $100 bill everyday, knowing that i get to go home to you.”
