You know. So many people call Tumblr a hellsite (myself included). But this place is more wholesome, more soothing, and a hell of a lot more enjoyable than the other SM sites out there. I’m so glad to be back and focusing more here.

Hans Capot of Plantstein...

Progress pics + plant tax under cut :)

When I saw these awesome yellow pots I knew I had to paint Hans' hood onto one. The varnish ended up sort of drippy (definitely won't be using this brand again) but I'm overall really happy with the result! All the line work was done by hand via paint brush. If I ever do something like this again, I'll break out the paint pens, lol.

It doesn't reflect very well in photos, but the 'embroidery' on the pot is golden! I was tempted to gild it but I hate gold leaf so it's not happening.

And here it is with my pepermonia clusiifolia, also named Hans Capon. I do have a Henry (a red hypoestes phyllostachya) but I'm not sure what I'd do on a pot for him.
