             TO PUT IT IN THE SIMPLEST OF TERMS ,  rosalie  was  terrified .  not  in  the  same  way  a  child  fears  the  monster  under  her  bed  or  perhaps  the  ever  constant  fear  of  straying  too  far  from  home  while  sleepwalking ,  but  a  much  different  kind .  perhaps  even  worse  than  the  above .  had  she  been  any  bolder  or  any  braver ,  she  would've  had  the  courage  to  let  nick  know  she  didn't  want  to  see  elwood .  that  wasn't  necessarily  true ,  but  it  wasn't  a  complete  lie  either .   then  again ,   how  could  she  ever  be  so  rude  to  a  dear  family  friend ,  even  more  so  in  front  of  her  own  mother ?   it  would ,   at  the  very  least ,  raise  suspicion  and  considering  the  amount  of  things  on  her  place ,  the  princess  really  didn't  need  any  more  of  that .

         she'd  been  sitting  in  this  very  position  for  at  least  twenty  minutes  now ,  staring  into  the  mirror  while  combing  through  already  untangled  locks .  what  was  she  even  supposed  to  do  or  say  at  a  time  like  this ?  what  do  you  say  to  the  one  person  who  dared  to  confess  to  you  something  so  big ,  so  important ,  albeit  on  accident ,  then  disappeared  the  next  day ?  the  worst ,  darkest  part  of  her  heard  told  her  that  maybe  he  didn't  even  deserve  the  chance  to  speak  to  her ,  but  she  couldn't  do  that .  it'd  be  much  too  cruel .  rosalie  knew  she  could  be  selfish ,  bratty ,  but  she  wasn't  evil .

             and  then  she  noticed  another  reflection  in  the  mirror ,  right  from  the  corner  of  her  eyes .

             there's  a  pause  in  the  now  almost  robotic  movement  with  which  she  combs  her  hair ,  caught  off - guard .  but  she's  quick  to  regain  composure  and  continue  the  same  useless  action  as  before ,  still  refusing  to  look  away  from  her  own  reflection .

             ❛  i  don't  want  to  talk  to  you , ❜  she  spoke ,  breaking  the  silence .  her  tone  was  cold ,  it  left  a  strange  taste  behind ,  but  it  was  the  only  one  she  could  muster  right  now .  ❛  you  can  stay  here  for  a  few  minutes ,  just  enough  to  make  it  seem  like  we're  catching  up ,  and  then  you're  leaving .  i'm  sure  the  last  part  won't  be  much  of  a  challenge , ❜  and  maybe  she  was  a  bit  cruel  after  all .

       IT SHOULD BE OF NO SURPRISE  to  anyone  that  angela  liked  makeup .  she  wasn't  particularly  skilled  or  anything  of  the  sort ,  but  the  blonde  enjoyed  playing  with  the  pretty  cosmetics  and  making  herself  into  what  she  believed  a  rich  twenty - something  year  old  would  look  like .  manifestation ,  right ?  but  of  course ,  makeup  wasn't  exactly  cheap ,  so  whenever  angela  found  a  product  she  absoluted  wanted  in  her  collection ,  there  was  only  one  way  around  it :  stealing .

       today  had  been  an  unfortunate  day .  she'd  slipped  a  lipgloss  ( one  of  those  fancy ,  viral  dior  ones )  in  her  pocket  and  somehow ,  she  got  spotted  by  a  saleswoman .  well ,  kind  of ,  because  when  the  woman  had  angela  check  her  pockets ,  the  lipgloss  was  gone .  that  left  her  both  relieved  and  annoyed ;  she  could've  sworn  she  had  it !  either  way ,  she  wasn't  about  to  try  her  luck ,  so  out  of  the  store  she  headed .

      a  few  seconds  later ,  angela  started  feeling  as  though  she  was  being  watched  by  something .  someone .  a  feeling  all  too  familiar  to  the  junkyard  dogs ,  but  especially  her .  eventually ,  she  turned  around  only  to  find  a  man  standing  a  couple  of  feet  behind  her .  ❛  —  lose  something ?  don't  even  think  of  trying  anything  funny ,  champ ,  you're  gonna  regret  it .  ❜
