How I feel about this character: massive massive respect. love me a character who talks back and calls out the protag on his shit, but is also very much his own person. it’s been said so many times but i cant believe he’s snape
Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: i know he’s got esther but tbh i kind of think of him as like deacon in “what we do in the shadows”. he’s sexy and he knows it. no need for a partner for that.
My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: i think blanky would give a very good shovel talk to james for francis’ sake. their conversation about fun times in fury beach was intense.
My unpopular opinion about this character: wow i dont have any??? blanky is just so agreeable
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: there’s that bit in 1x7 where he tells francis that “he (hartnell) has got a feeling for it, this one” and idk man that just activated all sorts of blanky-as-a-mentor feels for me. he is an ice master! there aren’t very many good ones! let! him! bond with! the promising ABs (a.k.a. hartnell)!

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: i wish they had him interacting with the other stewards, like im sure they had their own rumour mill going on. did jop notice that gibson was snooping around? did he view armitage with mild distrust like crozier did? did he have a low-key contest with hoar on who was the better captain’s steward? did he share silver polishing tips with bridgens? i read somewhere that ship crews did not consider officer’s stewards as one of their own, thus stewards were left to fend for themselves and were entirely dependent on their superior’s protection. what were the power dynamics???

My crossover ship: jopson is such a people-carer, i feel like he needs someone to care for him too, lavishly, unapologetically, someone who’d offer him a bunk without further questioning, with roundness and radiance… courfeyrac!
