Nieblum Beach on North Sea Island Föhr, August 2017 #darkroomunderground I use some Scheimpflug movements (swing on the front towards the line if sticks in the sand while angling the whole camera towards the sticks too - no movements on the back standard!) to be able to get a sharp image at f=16 to be able to shoot with a short enough exposure to freeze the grass in the never stopping wind at the North Sea. Intrepid 4x5 Field Camera Grandagon 6.8/90 with light-red filter (Lee 25) on Ilford's FP4+ developed in Kodak HC-110 Dil. Results before washing. These are actually a work print and variations. I struggling with clouds in a dark sky recently. Coming along though. Sunflowers greeting. North Sea Island Föhr on the last day of our stay before the rainstorm came down on us #believeinfilm For this image I had to go through quite some contortions: I was shooting the field at an angle so to get the front of the flowers in proper focus I had to “dance the Scheimpflug” on them, using a front swing to get the film pane meeting the focus. Vignetting is evident but intentional to emphasize the group of sunflowers in the middle. More or less shooting in the direction of the sun but the upcoming rainstorm diffused the light.
