The cover the Cassie "The Light Shines On" is a good representation of what you're going to hear. If you're like me, I looked at it and thought Blondie (the lead singer's first name is Debbie for crying out loud). Add a dash of the more contemporary band Susan and you've got a great approximation of Cassie.
Cassie was a band formed in the 1970s on the Isle of Wight (England). Once the band added vocalist Debbie Barker, they took off as Barker joined guitarist Nigel Hayes in perfecting the power pop sound that the aforementioned bands (plus The Go-Go's) often played.
Reminder Records (Brooklyn, New York) released "The Light Shines On" (a collection of demos and recording sessions from 1980-1983) in 2021. The label is still going, having released French band Dogs last year.
