Duran Duran - Night Boat (Official Music Video)
A strange song and an even stranger video. It was way too much for our 13 year old brains to comprehend.

Song challenge Day 24: song stuck in your head.
In my head for quite a bit, then went out, then got back in there again (thanks JT). I'll admit the video did creep me out at first, but I can't help laughing watching it again. Simon randomly rattles off Shakespeare and Nick, John, and Andy stare at him like, wtf?? At least that's how I felt at the beginning. Then as his friends are running for their lives, Simon is singing rather mirthfully, "Waiting for the night bo-oat, woo!" I do love their songs from this period - very dark, swampy bass and backbeat on this one especially.

Night Boat
Duran Duran/Night Boat Grey Old Whistle Test/1981
Steamer Berkshire, Hudson Navigation co. A night boat on the Albany run. The night boats had a racy reputation as a place where tired business men and their secretaries, and others, could find a little welcome privacy. It’s hinted at in the lyrics of Thanks for the Memory: “moments on the Hudson River Line”. And in Roger & Hart’s The Boys from Syracuse as "the night boat for Albania”. Adultery is probably much easier now but has lost a lot of charm.
