Signs of Light
Starter for @nightmareinthefrost ❄️
A woman stumbled unto icy land. Her heavy cloak covered her head and face. Snow seeped into her boots. She was almost convinced of returning to Asgard then and there, but her curiosity had driven her to that realm, and it was keeping her still. The healer walked along the snowy ground, eyes peeled for the plant she was looking for. An hour passed and there was still no signs of flora around her. Maybe the books were right. Maybe they were just mythical.
Suddenly, what appeared to he a courtyard appeared before her. Stone and ice created archways and walls and among it wall was a patch of blue-petaled flowers. Wren, that was the name of the woman, gasped in delight and hurried to grab a bunch of them. Her touch was gentle as her voice came out in soft breaths. “Hello, you are all so pretty,” the woman placed them on a mesh pouch, observing their petals. Her breath halted. Someone was watching her. She could feel it. And her legs would not move. “Hello? Is somebody there?” The healer looked up at the sky in a slight panic, “Heimdall? Heimdall, please, open the Bifrost. Heimdall!”
At no response or a glimmer of the iridescent bridge, Wren wrapped her fingers around the small gardening scissors she had brought along. She knew they could make no serious damage, but she was frightened. “Is anybody there?!”
