White people who make fun of Indigenous words even if they are state names think it's all so innocent and in good fun when it's so obvious you don't think our words or languages have value and just sound silly.
You are the same kind of people as my teacher who got annoyed when I did a presentation on Navajo Codetalkers in Diné Bizaad and ended up cutting off my presentation before I could finish without realizing just how disrespectful and rude it was (and in the same presentation allowing a white boy who's presentation was on WW2 immigrants do his slides in German, Italian,and Norwegian for each group and being impressed with it) . That's what it looks like to me when the premise of your joke boils down to "this Indigenous word sounds so goofy and weird".
