FOURTH OF JULY WITH @nikitagrayson

When it came to business, the fourth of July was like any other day for Colt. Construction was about to start on his latest project and because of that, a lot of paperwork had to be signed. Time was money and that money would only come in once construction was complete. He wanted everything to be done with so he could start another project. A lot of people thought he was crazy, but Colt was ambitious. Developing was his passion and being busy was the lifestyle he knew. Which was why he stood in the kitchen, coffee in hand and dressed in a suit, ready for the day. “I should be home ‘round supper.” He addressed Avery while finishing off the last drops of his morning coffee. “I’m sorry I can’t spend the day with you darlin’, I’m just surrounded with a mountain of paperwork taller than Everest.” Colt huffed while placing his mug into the sink “Do ya think you’ll be okay by yourself?”

“Just watch your step here darlin’.” Colt stated while leading her through the doorway of his home. This was all very strange for him. It was very rare for him to bring a girl to his home in Inman Park and he had certainly never taken care of anyone before. Truthfully, he was nervous. He was nervous about sharing his home with Nik and he was nervous about doing the wrong thing. There was a sense of vulnerability that came with bringing someone into your home. Especially when you were beginning to care about that certain someone. All he could hope for was that he didn’t mess anything up.

As the two walked through the door, his dogs immediately rushed up to him. Since being in the hospital, it had been a few days since he had seen his pets. Those animals were his life and he had missed them. However, they were just as excited to see him and he was worried about them jumping on her injured leg. “No, no. Wait!” Colt quickly called out which caused the dogs to come to a halt. A quiet chuckle fell from his lips as he placed his hand on her lower back. “I hope you don’t mind these three excited roommates.” He said with a smile. After rubbing her back for a few moments, he removed himself from her side and ran over to the dogs. That’s when the barks filled the room and he was tackled by them.

Fairest of Them All | Nikita & Ophelia

Ophelia played her part as the normal college student well. She stayed out in the open, spoke to people, and did everything to remain unquestionably normal. She didn't pull any pranks, didn't beat up any more people Kelvin. She truly wished Riley could've played the part with her, but surely she could talk to Abram about it. She enjoyed the company of others once again, she had been around more people in the past few weeks than she had in her entire lifetime. One girl stood out to her; a child with brunette locks cascading down her back and a laugh that was almost musical. She had memorized the girls schedule days ago, but had waited until now to introduce herself. She sat on the front steps of the house, waiting for her school bus to arrive. Her pale skin had an unearthly glow as the rays hit her legs, shielding her eyes with a pair of large, round sunglasses. Her breath staggered as the bus came, suddenly quite nervous. What if she thinks I'm weird? What if she doesn't like me? She wasn't sure why the girl's acceptance meant so much to her, but it did; she needed this child to like her. She stood up, brushing her shorts off as the girl made her way to the house. "Hi, I'm Ophelia." She leaned down, holding her hand out to the girl, smiling.
