55 Haywood County Classics
55 Haywood County Classics
Growing up in Haywood County has so many perks, right down to the very little things, the things you tend to forget about and sometimes even take it a little for granted. There is no other place quite like Haywood County and the richness in being a small town, where everyone knows one another. You become familiar with that one traffic light that seems to always be stuck, seeing a tractor on a main back road isn’t anything out of the norm, and turkey’s hanging out near the roundabout on Old Asheville Road around spring/summer months is always funny and never gets old. We wanted to share with you some of what we consider Haywood County Classics tracing back to childhood favorites that are very much still alive and should be experienced at some point during your stay, because I’m not sure you’ll get this experience anywhere else.

Chickens and Chi
I confess I’ve never been a fan of chickens. They always seem like nervous, high strung birds, and their pecking and quick movements are unsettling to me. I would never have imagined that these creatures could be used in the realm of animal-assisted therapy. Dogs, yes. Horses, sure. But, chickens?
