Artist statement- Csikszentmihalyi describes flow as state of optimal engagement characterized by the experience of timelessness, loss of self-consciousness, and complete absorption in the task at hand. Obstacles are challenging but surmountable because there is a skill/challenge balance- psychological and physical resources are harnessed to achieve success and mastery. For my performance art I wanted to express the idea of flow. For me flow happens when I am dancing, and painting. This video includes a combination a both, edited to fit the medium in which it was presented on.
