             “do you mind if I ask you a question?” he’s going to, regardless. it’s not his sense of entitlement ( though it does rear it’s ugly head, now and again ) but rather a bit of curiosity that’s been plaguing him for days. as is often the case, manners make way for mystery. “is it true that you...” gabe lowers his voice, just in case he’s wrong. he doesn’t want to sound like an idiot. “turn into a beetle?”

“What do you mean cover for you?! I covered for you the last time!” If Ved could have, he would have ended that call right then and there, stormed into their employer’s office, and reported the son of Dionysus for once again failing to come to work for reasons Ved presumed were related to their godly parent. Unfortunately for the son of Hephaestus, he actually cared about Nikolai, even took to him as a brother from another godly father of sorts sometimes. So instead of doing all that, he simply just sighed, holding a finger up to the old lady who was about to ask him something while cradling toilet paper. “Just a second, ma’am, I have a family emergency.”
