I'm from America and K-marts here are definitely like dystopian-levels of crusty. There was one in my hometown and my parents never allowed me to go inside but a sinkhole appeared in the parking lot after it rained really hard once and someone drove their car into it and it was really bad. The K-mart eventually ran out of business but for some reason no one can tear it down or lease the building to someone else so it's this literal crumbling abandoned warehouse in the middle of happy suburbia
