Nimklin Island Progress Post #7
It’s come a long way now!Â
Here’s how much I’ve changed the map since last time I’ve shown it. After lots of terraforming and pathing and all that good stuff, I’m almost done with my vision of the island. I’ve just recently finished putting in all the inclines and I’m now working on putting in all of the zen bridges. I also regained my five star rating, which is nice.
So as usual, I think it’s appropriate to also show off some of the areas I’ve come to really like the turn out of so far. As you can see in the map, my island hall square thing doesn’t allow a lot of room for decoration with this layout, but I’ve worked around that the best I could. I put a red zen bridge near the airport to signify it as the main bridge to the island while I plan on putting regular brown zen bridges everywhere else.
To the right of the island center, we have the Nook’s Cranny, and a little relaxation area I put to the right of it. I got lucky with the white streetlamps and stuff because I think they look really nice against the browns and reds of the island.
I also did something similar with the Able Sisters, except there’s a little swinging bench near the waterfall area I unfortunately can’t fit into this photoset, which would give it more than one hangout area as opposed to the Nookling shop.Â
Going to the museum, which you can faintly see to the right here, you’ll see a little setup that includes a little outdoor study with an unseeable meteor shower watching area to the right of it. I plan on putting some books around here soon.
Then, following the waterfall from the museum and going to the tiny beach you’ll find that I’ve set up a picnic area next to the sea. How nice. I’m just missing a bridge to close the gap where the path ends.
Lastly, I’ll show the campsite area. I decided to make it three levels high, with the second level consisting of a little fishing pond and a well nearby in case the visitor wants to fish or clean up, I like to think.
The actual campsite is on the third level, and it’s quite a view. I put “Mountain Song” up here because I think it’s fitting for camping. I don’t have a ton of ideas to decorate it with since it’s such a small place and I still want to be able to get around it, but I’ll think of something, probably. I also just noticed the Lily of the Valley that spawned up here, lol.
As usual, thanks for reading. Until next time, and I hope everyone enjoys.

Nimklin Island Progress Post #3
I recently found my Amiibo card for Shep and quickly added my favorite animal to my island. He’s been fitting in quite nicely, and I even decorated his house and moved it next to mine, haha.
The cherry blossom season definitely spruced up the town, especially his house.
Speaking of my house, I moved down to the second level and did a lot of terraforming around the island. I plan on making a separate post to kind of show off my interior design soon, since I’m very proud of it so far.
Moving back onto the rest of the island, I recently set up a little bamboo park area. It works as a nice looking spot on the island and as a good bamboo farm.
Next to it, I set up an orchard and a small farm looking area.
Going down to the path that leads into it and taking the path leads to an area where I’ve relocated my Engineer tribute. I plan on changing him into Soldier in honor of the recent passing of Rick May.
Across the river behind the farm, I’ve started working on a little outdoor arcade/hangout area. I used googiebot3000′s pattern from Twitter since it looks so cool.
Then behind the arcade if you head up the steps; you’ll find the residential area that I’ve been working on. Even further up is where I plan on making an outdoor picnic area, but literally nothing special has been done yet so I didn’t take any pictures.
That’ll do for now, thanks for reading.
Nimklin Island Progress Post #5
My island’s come a long way now! I feel like I’m basically done with the game at this point until I think of new revamping ideas or until other events happen. Anyways, to jump into it...
Over the time I’ve been absent on here, I’ve completed designing nearly every area of my island.Â
Here’s a video of me walkin’ to Shep’s house and showing the layout a bit better.
I’ve lined everything in paths that connect to each other to make the island somewhat easy to navigate. I’ve also attempted to make residential areas that also add to the theme. From here, you can see the street between my house and Shep’s eventually leads to a long road that goes south.
There’s many paths that lead off this road, and one of my favorite areas that’re connected to it is the bamboo path area. To the left and straight across the street from the bamboo area isn’t anything special, but a WIP of a pond and some hybird flower breeding.
Here’s how I’ve done some of the houses off the road. I’ve tried to decorate them by giving them a more natural look. I’m going to eventually add some items on the porches that represent the animals living in the homes.
At the end of the road (or beginning depending on where you’re coming from) there’s a ramp that leads to the campsite. I decorated this area with gold roses, blue roses, and lily of the valleys. I love these flowers and they were all a lot of work to get. This screenshot is from yesterday, but it looks exactly the same.
Moving on to the campsite, I’ve given it a more natural look. Near the back of the campsite, I have a little outdoor cooking area and picnic table set up for any visitors.Â
Going back to near my house; if you go all the way to the right, you’ll find stone stairs that lead to the third level of the island and a small residential area. It’s a pretty view from up here as well as quiet and relaxing.Â
Going to the right of that leads to the bridge that goes across the river that runs through the island. Taking the stone stairs down a level leads to the more busy and populated residential area.
This is the final area I can fit on this post. I also tried to make this area look somewhat natural and tried to incorporate more cedar trees to the scenery. I’m also glad my lamps are white, they match very well with the painted iron bench.
Also, Bangle is just chilling behind the tree here. She happens to live in this area, so it makes sense as to why she's out here.
Anyways, thank you for reading as always. My birthday recently happened on the 27th so I’m probably going to share some pictures from that day. I did take a lot of them. :)
I caught all of the (so far) available fish that have been in the Northern Hemisphere since launch and decided to make an aquarium in my basement with the rare fish extras. It’s coming along great so far. Â
Nimklin Island Progress Post #4
It’s time for a little night posting for once.
So recently I’ve been playing a lot and got a five star island, so I’ve got my hands on a golden watering can finally. I’ve already gotten lucky with the Jacob’s Ladd- I mean, Lily of the Valley flowers, and have already had two spawn in my island. They’re very neat, but I hope they get a special crafting recipe or something in the future considering how special they are.
Anyways, on to other stuff... I’ve been doing some more pathwork on my island and made some fixes to the second layer, which is where I’ve moved my home and Shep’s.Â
Due to the recent update having Redd make a return, I’ve decided to make my “secret beach” spot more accessible and put in an incline. I’ve been thinking of making another incline sort of connect to it from the third layer of the island for easy access from there.
Going south from my house and down a ramp will lead to the campsite, which I’ve spruced up quite a lot from when I’ve last shown it off. I surrounded it with the zen fencing to border it off and make it look like its own little natural section of the island.Â
To compliment it, I also added one of those stone arch things as the entrance.Â
Now if you cross the bridge, you’ll be taken back to the Nookling shop, which I’ve also decorated up a little more.Â
Now to the right of the Nookling shop, you’ll be taken back to the town hall. I put in some small details, but they make it look a little more lively.Â
Now if we keep going right, you’ll hit the orchards. I decided to go with a smaller amount of trees here, since all I’m really interested in is having at least five trees for every fruit in this area.Â
Now like I was talking about last time, I changed up the Engineer image with one for Soldier instead, in honor of the passing of Rick May. This one’s most likely going to stay here unless I feel I need to move it somewhere. I’m still breeding orange pansies to decorate him with.
Going a little north from there, I’ve replaced my outdoor arcade idea with a park instead, as I wasn’t very satisfied with how it looked. The park is a major work in progress, but so far it looks pretty nice.
Finally, I’ve been putting down these wooden dock patterns I found from a user on Instagram around my villager’s houses. They make the residential areas look a lot better and give them more personality in a way.
As usual, thanks for reading. That wraps this up for now.
Island Update
I’ve been doing some thinking lately and decided to plan out a new idea for the structure of my island, and ended up with the idea pictured below. These aren’t exact locations and all, so there’s gonna be changes. I plan on incorporating back some old things I had on my island as well.Â
This is definitely going to be a lengthy project considering how I’m revamping a five star island with a lot of stuff already on it, but I think I’ll be more satisfied in the end.
(If anyone wants to take inspo feel free, I don’t mind really)
