Your anon must be forgetting brilliant Pokémon designs like Rock With Face, Egg With Face, and Bigger Rock With Face. Seriously, the Gen 1/2 designs are so bland and uncreative generally speaking. At least Trubbish is something different.

That’s the thing; the designs people rail about tend to be the ones I love, for the exact same reasons: they’re something new and different. The Klink line? I LOVE the idea of a gear Pokémon that evolves by adding new gears. It’s a cool visual thing. I’ll take that over Fire-based Fox Number 900 any day.
