Another DnD character concept that I don’t currently have a game for, and a companion character to Vengeance, my previous tiefling concept. This is Nirza, a verdan life domain cleric of Ilmater. She used to be a slave minion of the same person who held Vengeance captive, and at the time, she also looked very different. Namely, she used to be an unassuming-looking male of a short stature, indistinguishable from a goblin - in fact, Nirza herself had been unaware that she was a verdan and not a goblin. During their captivity, Nirza did her best to instill some hope in Vengeance and the other slaves, helping them keep it together as much as she could. Once freed, her and Vengeance went their own ways, and a couple of years passed without them having any news of each other.
In those couple of years, Nirza became a cleric of Ilmater, inspired to continue helping those in need like she had helped her fellow slaves. She also discovered she was in fact a verdan when she underwent some of the drastic changes that tend to affect adult verdans unexpectedly - including a change of sex and and a matching clarification of gender identity.
Thus you may imagine Vengeance’s surprise when one day, as she is minding her own business, she is tackle-hugged by this beanpole of a pretty, blonde verdan woman, dressed in bright clerical robes and excitedly addressing her with her given name, which no one has any business knowing. The two may very well end up in an adventuring party together, forming a delightful contrast of personality: bouncy, optimistic priestess brimming with love and charm, and cold, cynical vigilante thirsting for the blood of the unjust - fundamentally different, but united by their drive to help the miserable and the oppressed.
