NIE Summer of Code 4.0 Report

Summary
NIE IEEE Student Branch organised NIE Summer of Code which was a five days workshop starting 1st june to 5th june consisting of both hardware and software topics. It was held at Golden Jublee Block (Hardware) and Browsing center (Software). There were more than 90 participants from different colleges all over Karnataka.
The event started at 8:45 for Hardware group and 9:30 for the Software group. All the Participants were informed (by email) about the course plan and the timings one day prior to the start of the event. The Participants were also sent a reminder message 1 hr before the start of the event.
Software Summary
In the Software Group, the teaching part was handled by multiple organising members. The HTML, CSS and Bootstrap was handled by Gunjan and Aditya Sinha, python was handled by Akanksha and Rishabh Dev Manu, Flask was handled by Mridul Ganga, Cryptography was handled by Anirudh and Gopika, lastly Amazon Web Services was handled by Milan Menezes.
Apart from the speaker, the other software group members were constantly clearing doubts of all the participants and made sure that they were at pace.
Hardware Summary
In the Hardware Group , the teaching part was handled by the organising members. Basics of atmega was taught by Asfia Armaan. Interfacing of LCD and bluetooth module with atmega16 was taught by Rakesh Roshan Bhat. Serial communication was taken up by Adithya Sanjeev B. Interfacing of ultrasonic sensor was taught by Sudhanshu Sharma.Timers and interrupts was taken up by Prathvi Rao. ADC was taught by Surabhi Shetty. Building of bots was taken up by Limita Shetty.
Apart from the speaker , rest of the members were clearing the doubts and helped in getting the output.

Mr. Anoop Chandra
He is a software engineer at Hewlett Packard . He was an alumni of Nie, he was also the technical coordinator of Nisb in the year 2014-15.
He has been involved in many projects ,few among them are;
thinkera which is a presentation tool built with the power of CSS3 transforms and impress.jss framework,
Precision agriculture using IOT which is a crop recommendation system to assist farmers to cultivate better crops, etc.
Mr. Swanand Patwardhan
He has pursued his diploma in Mechatronics and BE in mechanical engineering.
He has four years of experience in Godrej and Boyce as an industrial robotics engineer
He has done several projects on low cost automation, lean manufacturing, pneumatics and PLC programming
He has also worked in Infosys and has 1.5 years of experience in soft skills and management training.
Hackathon
Hackathon for both hardware and software tracks were conducted on 5th June at GJB and browsing centre respectively .
Here the participants were required to solve the given problems and build the project for the same within the given span of time .
Valedictory ceremony
Valedictory ceremony was held at 5th June in MV hall at 4.0pm . Faculty advisor Mr MJ Yogesh and the HOD of CSE Dr H.D. Phaneendra along with the tequip coordinator were the chief guests for the function. Report of NSOC 4.o was read out by the chairperson of NISB followed by the prize distribution of the winners of hackathon and later all the participants were provided with participation certificate .
