Today the sun reaches its highest point in the sky, we celebrate the first day of summer, and we have the most daylight hours of the year (15 hours, give or take a second, in NJ) Midsummer is celebrated in many cultures with different festivals and gatherings. In ancient China the solstice was observed by honoring the Earth, femininity and ‘yin’ energy. Ancient Gaul, Slav and Celtic tribes would light bonfires and celebrate the fertility of the season. —————————————————————————The Women of Wise Birth Choices like to take time to pause & reflect on all of the families we have had the pleasure of serving so far this year. We appreciate all of the hard work many have put into their fertility, the strength they have shown through their pregnancy, and the beautiful moments during their birth as a family gets to add another generation to their lineage. 💛 🧡 ❤️ We are honored to have worked with each and every family who trusted us to be a part of their birth team. Thank you!!!! It has been a wonderful first half of the year and we are eagerly anticipating the births that the second half has in store for us!!! ☀️ 🔥 🌞#summersolstice #midsummer #grateful #womensupportingwomen #thankyou #njdoulas #njdoula (at Manasquan Inlet - Squan Side)
