Why do you not like A/B/O? (no inflammatory intentions, just curious :) )

No worries, I wasn’t feeling accused :) And the answer is short and simple: consent. I know there are different takes and variations of the A/B/O theme, some of them deal with the consent issue, some avoid it, some have a twist. But a lot of the ones I’ve seen have an inherent ?inequality? between alphas and omegas that I’m deeply uncomfortable with. 

Also tangled into this are the omega’s heat. I’ve seen a lot of fics where they get so sex-crazed, they are presented as completely incapable of self-control or rational thought, and frankly I don’t find the idea of throwing myself at complete strangers for days once a month sexy. I find it terrifying. And that’s not even touching all the consent issues that brings into A/O interactions, never mind how you’d even define rape in this verse and it’s just. No. 

I understand why people like it and I know there are some fantastic fics I’m missing out on, but it’s just something I’m not comfortable with. But that’s my personal choice and it shouldn’t stop you or anyone else from enjoying these stories!

Thank you for asking first because that’s a very good question. Thing is, I do not write noncon. I do write dubcon only under very specific circumstances (example both are drunk, one is drunk and the other isn’t aware/underestimates this, stuff like that. never force. Maybe using that to one’s advantage, but even that makes me iffy). Stockholm syndrome to me belongs firmly into the noncon category because the psychological dependence/power imbalance in this case invalidates consent.

I’m open to AUs, OT3s, Identity Porn, capture fics (again, no dub con, but there are still possibilities here), and whatever else you come up with--and if not, I’ll let you know why I won’t write it. But the big rule for me is the bold no noncon.
